Locality Interoperable Communications Grants for Strategic Radio Caches

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management is pleased to announce the availability of the FY2006 HSGP Locality Interoperable Communications Grant opportunity for Strategic Radio Caches through the Office of Commonwealth Preparedness, Office of Interoperability.

Localities are encouraged to coordinate with other localities within their region to compete for $5 million dollars in 2006 Homeland Security Grant funding that is currently available to support the establishment these strategic radio caches that can be used as a communications resource statewide. The grant application and guidelines are provided below to assist you with the submission process.

All submissions must be submitted through the locality CAO’s office and only one submission per local government will be accepted. Multiple submissions from any locality may result in all submissions from that locality being ineligible. Grant proposals must be received by COB May 4, 2007 for consideration. The State Interoperability Executive Committee will evaluate applications and act on these applications by the end of May 2007.
