Amelia Hazmat Exercise (Oct. 26, 2002)

The Amelia County LEPC conducted this hazardous materials exercise designed to test planning and response capabilities for railcar incidents. Norfolk Southern Corporation provided the railcar and joined VDEM to conduct pre-exercise training for the participants.

Waste Management provided their facility for the event, which was funded through the U.S. Dept. of Transportation HMEP program.
