Storm Surge Inundation Maps

The maps that may be downloaded below show projected hurricane storm surge flooding along coastal areas. The data used to create these maps come from the partially-completed Virginia Hurricane Evacuation Study, a joint effort by VDEM, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and coastal localities. Detailed information about a specific locality and whether a property is in a storm surge area can be obtained by contacting the emergency management office for that locality.

Storm surge data is still being gathered for the Northern Neck area. A storm surge map for this area will be added to this page once data has been gathered, verified and analyzed.

Each map is available as a high-resolution PDF file. Additionally, each local map is available as a smaller PNG file, suitable for viewing on wireless devices.
