The goal of this workshop is to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security program for improving the planning and preparedness capability of higher education institutions by helping campus executive leadership understand principles of campus preparedness and by providing them with examples, tools, and resources for Homeland Security planning. Each participant will receive a participant guide, job aid, and a CD ROM that contains additional information on funding sources, job aids, planning tools, resources and web links.

Prerequisites: Participants must hold an executive leadership position in an institution of higher education.
Target Audience: This course is designed for senior executives in campus emergency planning, law enforcement and emergency communications roles. Two (2) representatives from each Virginia based institution of higher learning are eligible to attend this informative course. Registration is limited to the first 50 qualified individuals who register. (Registrants exceeding two per institution or from organizations other than colleges and universities will be allowed only if sufficient qualified registrations are not received.)

Course registration is limited to two (2) applicants per college or university. Only the first 50 applicants meeting this criteria will receive formal confirmation of attendance.
Course funding provided: Selected applicants will receive lunch and breaks during the course, and one-night pre-course hotel lodging at the Virginia Beach Double Tree hotel adjacent to the conference site. (Lodging provided per state travel regulations for minimum 70 miles / 1.5 hours travel time.)

Please note that registration begins at 8:00 a.m. The course begins at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude no later than 4:00 p.m.
