Planning Ahead

If disaster strikes, you need to know how to take care of yourself and your family. Self-reliance is important because local officials and relief workers won't be able to reach everyone right away.

Clear thinking and quick reactions will always help you in an emergency or disaster. Planning ahead, including developing a family disaster plan and assembling a disaster supplies kit, can help save your life.
